Business After Hours planned Tuesday

BAXTER — Sertoma Winter Wonderland and the Northland Arboretum are hosting a Business After Hours from 4:30- 6 p.m. on Tuesday at 14250 Conservation Drive in Baxter.


The networking event will provide a look at what’s new this year with the Sertoma Winter Wonderland. Participants will have an opportunity to tour via horse and stagecoach through the light displays.

ChamberNet hosts Open House Thursday

ChamberNet is hosting an open house from 7:15-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Country Inn & Suites, 15058 Dellwood Drive in Baxter.

Heartwood Senior Living Community hosts CHOW

CROSBY — Heartwood Senior Living Community is hosting a Brainerd Lakes Chamber CHOW networking event from noon-1 p.m. on Nov. 17, at 500 Heartwood Drive in Crosby.

CHOW is an affordable and impactful networking opportunity explicitly for chamber members. CHOW attendance is typically 50-60 guests.

Horizon Health’s Harvest Ball is Nov. 17

LITTLE FALLS — Horizon Health Inc. of Pierz is hosting its annual fundraising event on Nov. 17 at the Falls Ballroom.

The Harvest Ball begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Featured entertainer for the event is comedic magician Jerry Fraiser. Vicki Villebro, Horizon Health’s marketing director, said Fraiser has been a national entertainer for more than three decades from New York City to Hollywood. Villebro described Fraiser as Jim Carrey meets Tony Robbins meets Harry Houdini. One of the acts in the event is expected to include floating a person from the audience on air.

The ticket price for the event with meal and entertainment is $30. Guests will have an opportunity to participate in the annual Champaign and Diamond Event with 100 chances to win a choice of a diamond necklace, diamond ring or diamond earrings. The event includes a silent and live auction.

Horizon Health is a nonprofit housing and health care provider. Tickets for the Harvest Ball are available at F & M State Bank or Horizon Health in Pierz. In Little Falls tickets are at Gold Smith Jewelers or Pap’s Sport Shop. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the event. LAHRA to meet Thursday at Prairie Bay

Lakes Area Human Resources Association is having its general membership meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Prairie Bay, 15115 Edgewood Drive, Baxter.

This month’s speaker is Ted Schick from Schick Corporate Learning and the topic will be: Leading Generations: What’s Different—What’s the Same.

Midwest Motion reports meet results

Midwest Motion Gymnastics, Brainerd, reported the results from a gymnastics competition Oct. 15 in Ashland, Wis.

All of the meets have at least six or more other teams in competition. Leading the Midwest Motion Level 4’s was Lauren Miller with a 34.25 All Around Score and she also placed first for individuals. The Level 4’s for Midwest Motion took home for the first place award with a score of 102.05.

Leading the 5’s for Midwest Motion and Placing 10th individually was Jocelyn Polansky with an All around score of 33.65. Midwest Motion’s Level 5’s placed sixth with a team score of 98.75.

Midwest Motion’s Level 6’s placed fourth with a team score of 93.10.Leading the Level 6’s in the Child division ages 7-10 was Brooklyn Jones with an all around score of 31.0 and placing first for individuals.

Leading the Level 6’s in the Junior division ages 11-12 and placing sixth individually was Cami Harmer with an all around score of 30.75.

Lakewood to thank and honor veterans

STAPLES — This Veteran’s Day, Lakewood Health System will be thanking and honoring military veterans for their service to the country.
