BAXTER — Lakes 12 made marked progress in a week as opening day approaches on Friday.

Tile and carpet were installed in the renovated lobby along with the new concessions counter. Theatergoers will use a temporary entrance when the theater first opens because custom glass is still being installed in the new entrance facing toward the south parking lot. At least eight screens will be available on opening day. And the front marquee will have a new look with LED lights.

Mann Theaters, owners of Lakes 12, report the exterior landscaping added to the parking lot should also be completed for the June 15 opening.

Movies planned for the opening are: “Prometheus,” “The Avengers,” Men in Black 3,” “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Rock of Ages,” “That’s My Boy” and two screens will have “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.”

The theater plans to open with three 3D screens ready.
