Larson earns Service to Mankind award
The Sunrise Sertoma Club presented Jeanne Larson with the “Service to Mankind” award Thursday morning at their regularly scheduled meeting.
The award is presented annually to a non-Sertoman who epitomizes the “Service to Mankind” theme of the club. The award is based on volunteer service provided to the local community, state, or nation.
Larson was presented the award based on her leadership efforts associated with the Feet For Fools 5K walk/run, the Sour Grapes Half & Half Trail Run, and Mud Run Fun for Charity, a fundraiser for Lakes Area Disabilities Ministries.
She has volunteered countless hours with Kinship Partners and the Northland Arboretum where she served as a board member in addition to volunteering with the Weekly Weeders, the Haunted Trail, and organizing a weekly walking group. She has also offered her home and gardens to a wide variety of community groups for fundraising efforts.
Larson is a steadfast community leader who brings out the best in others in terms of effort and giving. Her many successes are due in large part to the friendships she has nurtured and her devotion and commitment to serving others, Sertoma reported. “Jeanne Larson truly embodies Service to Mankind,” the club stated.
