February is national Children’s Dental Health Month, according to the American Dental Association.

Central Lakes College (CLC) hosted Give Kids a Smile Day Friday on the Brainerd campus, where Dr. Arnold Rutman was a volunteer for the free dental check-ups provided to ages 4 to 16 in the CLC Community Dental Clinic.

Bethany Rylicki, a CLC dental assisting student from Woodbury, worked with Rutman during one of 64 scheduled appointments. The annual event is sponsored by the Minnesota Dental Association. Appointments for free exams were also taken through CLC Dental Assisting at the office of Dr. Dominic Gagnon at Staples.

The Central Lakes College Dental Assisting Club hosted a toothbrush trade-in on the Brainerd campus Friday to kick off Children’s Dental Health Month. The club partners with the Minnesota Dental Association to raise funds for the licensing exam.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
