Biz Buzz: one pizza place is leaving Brainerd but another is opening in Baxter
One pizza place is leaving the Brainerd and one is moving in Baxter.
Jimmy’s Pizza fans in Brainerd will have to put on the miles as the pizza restaurant is moving from Washington Street in east Brainerd to Crosby in the spot previously occupied by Papa John’s.
A pizza restaurant is coming into the former Movie Gallery spot in the mall by Cub Foods in Baxter. The restaurant, reportedly not to be franchise, is not releasing its name just yet. Hy-Tec Construction is working on the renovations to the building.
The Cherrywood Store with fabrics inside Colorz for Quilts shop in the Westport Mall in Baxter is hosting a grand opening May 10-11.
The Cherrywood store is known for hand-dyed fabrics that have the look of suede. The store is owned by Karla Overland. She’s been the owner for 13 years but has offered her hand-dyed fabrics by mail order and online. This is her first retail setting.
The grand opening is using a happy hour theme with fabrics listed in a cocktail collection and as “appetizers.”
Overland will have prize drawings and refreshments. The happy hours are 4-6:30 p.m. May 10 and noon to 2 p.m. May 11, during regular store hours which are 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 10 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 11.
