Biz Buzz: Kuepers relocates office, opens room for retail in North Pointe Centre

Kuepers Inc. Architects and Builders in Baxter reported the office is moving from its North Pointe Centre offices off Edgewood Drive in Baxter to a new and expanded office on Commercial Park Road.

Kuepers closed its offices last Thursday in preparation for the move and plans to reopen in the new office on Monday.

The new office is just off Barbeau Road, north of Brainerd and Baxter by about 2 miles along Highway 371.

“The move allows Kuepers to consolidate their office and field operations in one location,” Kuepers reported this week.

The move opens up retail space in the Highway 371 corridor in Baxter. Kuepers Inc. once filled much of the North Point Centre before shrinking its footprint in the strip mall and making space for Game Stop and Pizza Ranch.

The North Pointe Centre is also home to Buffalo Wild Wings. In 2011, Kuepers sought and received permits to demolish the nearby Enterprise Car Rental building to construct an 8,040-squre-foot multi-tenant building as an expansion of the North Point Centre. AT&T took the front spot in the addition to the retail center.

Now a new tenant is expected as Kuepers moves out.

“Renovation plans for a new tenant at the North Point Centre space will be announced soon,” the builder reported.

Work is progressing on the 22,000-square-foot clinic building going up along Isle Drive in Baxter. The clinic will be shared by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and Minneapolis Heart Institute. Mortenson Construction and Nor-Son Inc. are the primary building contractors.

The clinic is expected to open before the end of the year.
