Work has begun on the Dollar Tree site in Baxter.

Dollar Tree previously received a conditional use permit from the city of Baxter to locate a new store on the east side of the Westport Mall.

The development, at 14087 Baxter Dr., was requested by Baxter Development Group. According to plans previously filed with the city, the 16 pine trees along the property boundaries on the east side of the mall will be removed.

Earth-moving equipment was also engaged at Isle Drive near the future Falcon Drive intersection for the McDermott Professional Center with a dental clinic.

Boomer Pizza gained a liquor license amendment from the city of Baxter to allow outdoor liquor sales with a new outdoor patio area.

TNT Fireworks sought and received approval for fireworks license applications at a number of Baxter businesses. The city council approved the licenses for Big Lots, Costco, Cub Foods, Target and Wal-Mart.

Journey North Community Church received approval from the city of Baxter for a conditional use permit for 6785 Woida Road and the vacant lot south of that property. The permit provides for church use of the existing building and parking lot expansion.

iTeam Creative, at 405 W. Washington St., opened along Washington Street in Brainerd in the suite of businesses, including Minnesota Vacuum & Sewing Center and Rafferty’s Pizza.

Keith Larson launched what he describes as a “metro-minded creative agency.”

“A creative group with experience in local and metro markets, iTEAM Creative aims to match ‘hometown values’ with a ‘metro-minded’ look and feel,” Larson reported in a news release.

Larson is principal creative strategist. He said he’s “teamed with various creative professionals in all areas of advertising to provide a modern take on traditional marketing.”

Larson reports iTeam works on multiple platforms, online, print, video, social media, to help clients create brand awareness.
