The idea is keep the wrong person from finding valuable identifying data. Last year, more than 10,000 pounds of documents were shredded during MMFCU’s Shred Days.

Stop by Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union parking lot to have personal documents shredded in a Paper Storm mobile shredding truck for free.

Events are:

• Brainerd, noon to 1 p.m., June 9, at 200 S. Sixth St.

• Baxter, noon to 1 p.m., June 10, 13283 Isle Drive.

Shred Day will take place rain or shine, and there’s no charge for this service, however please limit the amount of documents to three boxes per person.

The Shred Day not only offers a chance to safely dispose of sensitive documents, but it also recycles material that might otherwise end up in landfill sites.

Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative serving more than 35,500 members in central Minnesota with full-service offices in Alexandria, Brainerd, Baxter, Crosby, Little Falls, Pequot Lakes and Staples.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
