BLACF elects new members to board of directors

The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation announced the addition of three new members—Kevin Larson of Consolidated Telecommunications Co., Jim Kraft of Frandsen Bank & Trust and Quinn Nystrom of Qspeak.

"We are very excited for these three individuals to be joining our board," saod BLACF Executive Director Karl Samp, in a news release. "Their passion for community and innovation will be a great addition to our organization."

The board of directors governs the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, conducts marketing and development activities, approves grant decisions and works to engage people, connect resources and build community. All members are volunteers and serve three-year terms.

The Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, in affiliation with CommunityGiving, is a public charity that attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local community. Since 1998, BLACF has grown to over $9.4 million in assets and awarded over $4.3 million in grants to local nonprofits. CommunityGiving is a collaboration of community foundations united under a single framework to create efficiencies that maximize the impact of our donors. The core foundations working with CommunityGiving include the Alexandria Area Community Foundation, the Brainerd Lakes Area Community Foundation, the Central Minnesota Community Foundation and the Willmar Area Community Foundation.
