The Center's Wednesday morning schedule

The Center's Morning Club will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

The presenter will be Nate Olson, Brainerd Sports Booster Club.

Nisswa Women's Club to meet

BREEZY POINT—The Nisswa Women's Club will meet Thursday at Breezy Point Marina. Social time will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch being served at noon.

Jana Shogren, director of Resource and Development, Central Lakes College, will be the guest speaker and will be presenting the program of "The Importance of Scholarships to Student Success."

Club member Bonnie Mork will be introducing the 2017 nontraditional scholarship winners Christina Hagen, JoLene Elliott, Der Cha, Alex Maciej, Rebecca Bearth and Ashlyn Pfeil, recipient from the NWC Endowment Fund.

Hostesses for the meeting are Deanna Anderson, Roberta Freese, Juli Friedrichs, Jo Quam and Mona Warren. The inspirational will be presented by Lois I. Jensen.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Post and Auxiliary Membership Dinner will meet Monday. Social hour is at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m. The dinner is free for paid-up members. Dues may be paid at the door. Meetings will follow the dinner.

Local 631 will meet 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Brainerd Area Networking Group will meet noon Thursday.

On Friday, the special dinner will be prime rib for $15. Walleye is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

Class of 1973 to meet

The Brainerd High School class of 1973 will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Bahma Room at the Brainerd American Legion on Front Street.

Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary to serve breakfast

HACKENSACK—Hackensack American Legion Auxiliary Unit 202 will serve breakfast from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 at the Club.

Cost: $6. The proceeds will go to support youth scholarships.

Disabled American Veterans and Auxiliary to meet

The Disabled American Veterans and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Crow Wing County Chapter No. 22 meet will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Brainerd VFW Club.

Chapter 22 officers meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

WHS class of 1965 meeting planned

The Washington High School class of 1965 will meet 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Pub (downstairs at Grand View Lodge).

PEO Chapters CJ and DV to meet

Chapters DV and CJ will meet jointly 1 p.m. Monday at First Congregational Church in Brainerd.

Hostesses will be Annie Swanstrom, Pat Hansen and Jan Morton. The program will cover the International Convention.

Ray's Promenaders to dance

Rays Promenaders will dance 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Bethany Good Samaritan Home cafeteria, 804 Wright St., Brainerd.

Amber Lodge 186 of the Danish Sisterhood of America announces meeting

The Amber Lodge 186 of the Danish Sisterhood of America will 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at Evelyn Matthies Studio in the Franklin Arts Center.

Discussion will be the book "Number The Stars" which deals with the Danish resistance during World War II.

The Sagatun Lodge Sons of Norway meeting will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The Brainerd Chapter No. 738 National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet Tuesday at the Northwind Grille in Brainerd.

Social time starts at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon.

Presentation will be by Earl Knutson, District NAARFE president.

Brainerd Area Retired Educators meeting announced

The Brainerd Area Retired Educators will meet for a noon luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Monday at Prairie Bay Restaurant in Baxter.

Speaker will be Laine Larson, Brainerd High School superintendent of schools. Topic will be the upcoming bond issue and advocate for reproductive education.
