Minnesota Power and Light Western Retirees get-together set

PINE RIVER—Minnesota Power and Light Western Retirees annual get-together will be June 12 at Bites Grill and Bar in Pine River.

Social hour will begin 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be 12:15 p.m. Reflection and announcements to follow the meal.

40th reunion of BHS class of 1978 set for Aug. 4

The Brainerd High School class of 1978 will celebrate its 40th reunion with a social gathering, dinner and entertainment Aug. 4 at the Brainerd American Legion.

Brainerd Garden Club meeting planned

The Brainerd Garden Club will meet 1 p.m. June 8 at the Northland Arboretum.

Program will be garden art presented by Connie Boileau. Host will be Walter Pangburn.

Memorial Day picnic set

The public is invited to a Memorial Day picnic of hamburgers, hot dogs and more from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 28, at the American Legion, 708 Front St., Brainerd.

The event is co-sponsored by Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615 and the American Legion Post No. 255.

Elks Soccer Shoot planned

BAXTER—All youths ages 6-13 are invited to the 16th annual Brainerd Elks Soccer Shoot on Wednesday, May 30, at Southdale Soccer Field, Baxter.

Registration begins at 6 p.m. with the event starting at 6:30 p.m.

WHS class of 1958 to meet Wednesday

The Washington High School class of 1958 will meet 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Brickhouse Pizza/Bread and Bagel in Brainerd.

The Center's Morning Club meeting planned

The Center's Morning Club will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

Presenter will be Shane Riffle, CEO of Brainerd Family YMCA.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

Commander Rick will host a breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday, May 27.

Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for kids.

The special dinner for Friday, June 1, will be deep-fried jumbo shrimp for $11. Walleye dinner is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.
