Pedal With a Purpose fundraiser to benefit Bridges of Hope
Bridges of Hope was selected as the June Pedal With a Purpose fundraiser recipient at Takedown Gym in Brainerd.
Pedal With a Purpose is a once-a-month indoor cycling event, 100 percent of the proceeds from which are donated to a designated nonprofit each month. The event is open to the public, members and non-members. For $20, participants will take part in an instructor-led Bike Boss class—indoor cycling choreographed to music. Classes are designed for all ability levels.
Bridges of Hope links families to community supports and resources. It creates partnerships within the broader community to help strengthen, stabilize and support families in the lakes area, sending a message of hope and empowering families to thrive.
Since 2002, according to a news release, Bridges of Hope has served more than 12,900 households (over 36,000 people) in the lakes area. Services take the form of four programs: crisis child care services, family support services, the financial resources program and the mental health program. The goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect and to promote stronger, healthier families.
Event T-shirts will be for sale at each ride featuring the logos of event sponsors, including: Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union and Muddy Bikes in Brainerd, Breakaway Level sponsors; Thelen Heating and Roofing, Select Therapy and Infinity MedSpa, Chaser Level sponsors; and Gary's Painting, Ameriprise, Among The Pines, XT Creative Group, Edgewood Dental and Simplified Notions, Peloton Level sponsors. Post-ride fuel will also be provided by Cub Foods of Brainerd and Baxter.
Class will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, and is limited to 20 participants. Additional classes will be added based on demand.
