Crow Wing County Genealogy Society to meet

The Crow Wing County Genealogy Society will meet Thursday, July 26, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Family History Center, 101 Buffalo Hills Lane, Brainerd.

Program: Social hour will be 6-7 p.m. and a chance to use Family History Center resources with help from Society members. At 7 p.m., there will be a program with discussions about family cemeteries and burial plots with several guests and members with knowledge about the topic.

45th Pequot Lakes all-class reunion set for Aug. 5

PEQUOT LAKES—The 45th Pequot Lakes all-class reunion will be Aug. 5 in the high school cafeteria with registration at 12:30 p.m. followed by a time of socializing.

A brief business meeting is planned with election of officers.

A potluck lunch will be served and those attending are asked to bring salads, hot dishes and desserts. All utensils will be furnished along with meat, cheese, buns and beverages.

The class of 1968 will be the honored class.

On Saturday, Aug. 4, events include individual class reunions and an informal gathering later in the evening at the Pequot Lakes American Legion Club. All former students, graduates and faculty are invited and encouraged to attend this annual event.

WHS Class of 1958 to meet

The Washington High School Class of 1958 will meet for coffee at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Brick House/Bread and Bagel.

Brainerd Area Art Club meeting planned

The Brainerd Area Art Club will meet 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at the Crossing Arts Alliance, 711 Laurel St., Brainerd.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

Commander Rick will host a breakfast buffet at 8 a.m. Sunday, July 22. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for kids.

The special dinner for Friday, July 27, will be Bob Harting's barbecue ribs for $11. Walleye dinner is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

The Center's Morning Club will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

The presenter is Officer Troy Schreifels, police officer at Brainerd High School.

Downsizing Workshop planned

EMILY—The United Methodist Church of Emily will host a Downsizing Planning Workshop on from 3-4:40 p.m. Aug. 8.

It will be led by Kathleen Gilbride of the Central Minnesota Council on Aging, St. Cloud. This is another in a series of Emily area community educational events.

The workshop will offer participants practical steps and actions to consider when preparing to downsize and dispose of property, possessions, collectibles, family keepsakes and just plain "stuff."

Senior dances

Senior dances will be from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Motley Ten-Hi with Jerry's Dance Band; and from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Waukenabo with music by Two For The Road.
