After 13 years as a more formal seafood and cocktails restaurant, Iven's on the Bay on Hwy 371 north is changing to a more casual atmosphere. The change comes after research by Alan Hudalla, who joins his parents, Iven and Marlene as proprietor.

Sunday's wind and rain put a damper on the second day of the fishing opener. Marv Koep at Nisswa Bait reported a couple of limit catches of walleyes, compared to a large number of limit catches early Saturday. Largest walleye was a 9-3 specimen from Kimball Lake.

The Warrior track team finished a distant third at the Fergus Falls Invitational meet, but set four school records. The sprint medley unit of Tom Dalby, Durand Wagner, Dave Marchel and Ron Abraham ran 3:41.3 for the school and meet record. Abraham set the mile record at 4:29.6.

Miss Eileen Hansen has been elected president of the Brainerd Education Assn., newly formed here as part of the Minnesota Education Assn. The organizational meeting also elected Mrs. Frances Norgaard, VP; Mrs. Emil Frank, secretary; and Sara Nyjordet, treasurer.

A search is on for Donald Reeves, a former Minneapolis hospital orderly, who was named as the assailant in the shooting death of 65-year-old George Thorpe, Crosby. The abandoned getaway car had been stolen in St. Paul and used in the holdup of a Duluth doctor the previous day.

A drunk tried to board the M&I passenger train today and was quickly ejected by brakeman Rich Bush. The man then stood on the platform between two trains and spoke on the war and U.S. foreign policy, even after the trains left. He said he wasn't drunk and had never been drunk.
