The Warrior swim team dominated St. Cloud Apollo 131-54 in a conference dual meet. Apollo simply didn't have enough swimmers to fill out their roster. Sam Esser led Brainerd, winning both the 50 and 100 freestyles and swimming on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.

Father Robert William Klein was found guilty on three of five counts of criminal sexual conduct. A district court jury returned the verdict after an hour of deliberations. Klein was supported by family and friends but did not speak after the verdict was read.

Winning the Paul Bunyan Holiday Wrestling Invitational in Brainerd is getting to be "old hat" for Staples as they took their fourth title, scoring a record 191 points. Brainerd's only bright spot was Joel Baker, winning the title at 155 pounds.

William David Smith, reportedly a long-time friend of Minneapolis wrestler Red Bastien, was forcibly ejected from last night's professional wrestling tag team match between Bastien-Don Curtis vs. the "Atomic Blondes." The Brainerd man paid a $10 fine today for creating a disturbance.

A Studebaker car swerved down S. 6th Street at 4:45 a.m. today and bounced off a bus parked at the curb and ran straight for Garvey's lunch counter at 6th and Laurel. Had it not hit the lamp post it would have gone in the building. Two men were badly hurt, three ran away and left two quarts of whiskey.
