Doucette appointed to United Way board
United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass Counties recently announced the appointment of Daryl Doucette to its Board of Directors.
Doucette is vice president of Human Resources at Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union and brings a variety of experience to the United Way Board, including finance and volunteer outreach.
"The Credit Union's mission is very similar to that of the United Way in that we are focused on improving the financial well being of over 40,000 members in the communities we serve," Doucette noted in a news release. "My personal goal would be to bring as many volunteer opportunities to staff as possible and perhaps to our members, as well. Staff at MMFCU have been involved in many volunteer opportunities in partnership with United Way over the years and I would like to ensure those opportunities continue.
"I have been so fortunate to be involved with many initiatives like Operation Sandwich, Day of Caring, Bridges of Hope programs, Toys for Kids and Coats for Kids, as well as organizing fundraising drives for local food shelves."
Doucette is also completing a three-year, voluntary board position with the Lakes Area Human Resources Association (LAHRA) as President Elect, President, and currently Past President.
"I believe that giving back is healthy," Doucette added, "and promoting volunteer activities should be a part of every employer's wellness program. My hope by serving on this board is that I will bring more awareness of United Way efforts to the staff I serve at MMFCU and the members of LAHRA; so, that in the end, everyone has the opportunity to give back to something bigger than ourselves."
