Area Football: Tigers outscored by Mahnomen

PINE RIVER - Zach Struss completed 12 of 25 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns in the Pine River-Backus Tigers 44-13 loss to the two-time defending Class 1A champions Mahnomen Indians in Friday's North Star Conference game.

Struss completed scoring passes of 16 yards to Zack Semmler and 75 yards to Henry Kracklau.

The Indians have now won 29 straight games. Mahnomen is 33-0 during the last five regular seasons and are the four-time Section 8-1A champions.
