Area Girls Tennis: Pequot Lakes improves to 10-1

PERHAM - Haley Wiebolt and Sydney Holt both raised their records to 12-2 with a pair of wins as the Pequot Lakes Patriots defeated Section 8-1A opponents Roseau and East Grand Forks on Thursday.

Wiebolt, Holt, Carly Fyle and Madison Galligan all won both of their singles matches.

"These wins were important because they were both section matches," said coach Monica Sergent, whose Patriots improved to 10-1. "This will help us down the road in the seeding process come tournament time."

PARK RAPIDS - Madeline Oren went 2-0 at No. 4 singles as the Crosby-Ironton Rangers opened Mid-State Conference play with a pair of losses, 6-1 to Park Rapids and 4-3 to Detroit Lakes.
