Shep's on 6th bounced American National Bank 29.5-14.5 on July 17 to increase its men's league lead at Cragun's Legacy Courses.

iTeam Creative moved into second place with a 28.5-15.5 win over Mulligan's.

Legacy women

Sue Carrol, Joni Melin, Amy Nelson, Alexandra Nelson and Bella Aveai owned the front nine of the Dutch Course July 15 to win the New Orleans/Mardi Gras scramble during women's night out at Cragun's Legacy Courses.

Capturing the back nine were Rhonda Mareck, Lottie Oehrlein and Rachel Martin.

Ruth Zauhar and Sara Lembcke dominated the Par 3 Course as they won the team title and all the proxies. Lembcke was closest to the pin and Zauhar had the longest putt.

Katie Lippo, Carrol, Vindy Pulak and Angie Sandelin were closest to the pin on Dutch. Tina Johnson and Martin were closest in two shots and Mary Claire Ryan and Shana Krantz made the longest putts.

July 29 will be the end of the month scramble.

Breezy Point men

Billy's 2 scored a 15-5 victory over Jon and Dave on July 17 to build a one-point lead in the men's league standings at Breezy Point Resort.

Dirt Busters moved into second thanks to a 13.5-6.5 win over JJ's Pub. Thomas & Severson Law 3 topped Antler's 14-6 to climb into third place.

Breezy Point women

Verna Miller's 13 putts were the low and Sandy O'Day captured the guess your score event during the July 17 Breezy Point Resort women's league.

Miller was followed by Barb Owens with 15 putts. Gloria Thomas, Colleen Rawlings and Judy Thomas tied for third with 16 putts each.

Ellen Koshenina and Bugs Schmidt tied for second in the guess your score portion of the event.

Judi Moravec and Connie Parsley tied for third.

Whitefish men

Darrell Swanson, Don Skalman and Bill Anderson won the best two balls net during the July 15 Whitefish men's league.

Larry Dahl, John Rathman and Jim Devinck finished second followed by George Martin, Mike Carnahan and Dean Brandt in third.

Paul Schmidt and Don Skalman were closest to the pin winners with Todd Wordelman and Erlin Johnson drained the longest putts.

Whitefish women

Carol Germann cashed in her low-net round of 64 to win flight C of the July 16 T-E-N-S game during the Whitefish Women's 18-hole league.

Faye Owen placed second in flight C.

Mindy Brown won flight B with Marguerite Baker and Cheryl Bontrager tying for second.

Barb Hanson and Maxine Riches tied for Flight A honors.

Hanson and Cathy Munger shot net 68s, with Faye Owen carding a net 69.

Birdies came in pairs with Hanson, Mimi Swanson and Munger each marking down two. Marty Moakley made one birdie. One of Swanson's birdies was a chip-in, the only chip-in on the day.

GVL Outing

Candace Prigge, Lisa Omodt, Carrie Spitzack and Naomi Brockhoff shot 36 to win the scramble format July 15 in the Women's Outing at Grand View Lodge.

Connie Lazor, Sue House, Jean Morgan and Marilyn Sobiech finished second. Doreen Robideau, Stephanie Murray, Val Lueck and Marlene Perkins tied the team of Pearl Peterson, Barb Elmquist, Kris McGrath and Katie Wallace for third.

Sobiech was closest to the pin and Judy Anderson made the longest putt.

The next Coed Outing will be 5:30 p.m. July 29 at the Pines.

Chix with Stix

Debbie Briggs shot a 36 to win the July 17 Ts, Fs and Ns game in the Chix with Stix league at Grand View Lodge's The Pines.

Rose Johnson and Pat Lewis tied for second with 38s. Jann Blesener finished third.

Flossie Ahlers made the longest putt and Briggs was closest to the pin.

Pam Cook carded two birdies, including one on a chip-in. Ahlers and Johnson also scored birdies.

The July 24 event will be at the Preserve.

Black Bear Women

Pattie Erickson's 34 was the low net during the Black Bear women's nine-hole league July 17.

Mary Lou Jacobs finished second with a 41.

Lila Kersey needed the least number of putts.

Eagle's Landing results

Ruth Ruka and Carol Anderson shot a net 22 to win the July 16 women's league at Eagle's Landing.

Roberta Nyquist and Fay Grams placed second with a 23 and Jean Mahling and Darlene Swedin shot 24 for third.

Eric Rowbottom shot a gross 69 during the July 17 men's league. He was followed by Jon Brill 76, Carl Hendrickson and Kevin Klempka with 77s and Dave Walsh, Nick Dahl and Mike Caughey with 78s.

Steve Klein shot 61 for low net. He was followed by Bubba Nooter and Justin Bieganek with 62s and Bryan Hill and Dave Walsh with 63s.

Nine-hole winners were Mat Arnoldy with a gross 40 and Pete Balaski with a net 30.

Other gross scores were Pete Balaski 41, Jared Heldt and Jeff Conrad with 42s and Jim Barber with 43.

Low net scores were Matt Arnoldy 31 and Tom Cotton and Ross North with 32s.

Klempka and Chuck Forss made long putts, Rowbottom and Karl Samp were closest to the pin and Nick Dahl pounded out the longest drive.

During couples league July 20, Steve and Joyce Gottsch placed first with Jeff and Joann Lewis in second and Margie and Curt Thesing in third. The Thesings swept the longest drive competition with Patty Paige sinking the longest putt.

Derek Schmeck and Jason Beyer were the gross winners in the July 14 scramble with Dan Bzdok and Brian Stark in second and Brett Thompson and Scott Jendro third.

Stark hit the longest drive, Jerry Vanek was closest to the pin, Derek Schmeck hit the closest second shot and Jim Guida made the longest putt.

Whitefish represents at Tianna

The foursome of Maxine Riches, Roxi Thompson, Marguerite Baker and Nancy Schmidt captured the first flight of the Tianna Invitational in Walker.

Sixteen women from Whitefish competed in the event.

Cuyuna Rolling Hills site of two tournaments

Cuyuna Rolling Hills Women's Golf Association will host two 9-hole tournaments Aug. 6.

The first event, which begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, will be the Susan G. Komen Rally for the Cure. There is a $20 registration fee, which includes a gift bag, magazine subscription and a chance to win a pair of golf shoes.

The second event is the Leslie Cummings Memorial Tournament, which begins with a 10:30 a.m. start. There is a $3 league fee and green fee charge if the golfer is not a Cuyuna Rolling Hills member.

MAO scramble set

The 10th and final MAO Scramble will be Aug. 24 on the Dutch Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses.

The entry fee is $85 and includes golf, practice range and buffet lunch. $20 of each entry fee will go toward Confidence Learning Center. Nearly $25,000 has been raised in the nine prior years.

Denny Nybo, Pine River, aced the 160-yard seventh hole of Whitefish Golf Club July 12 using a 7-iron.

Scott Mendelblatt, Richfield, aced the 161-yard 12th hole of the Dutch Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses July 17 using a 7-iron.

Greg McKinney, Grand Rapids, aced the 220-yard fourth hole of the Dutch Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses July 17 using a driver.

Jack Evans, Brainerd, aced the 183-yard seventh hole of the Bobby's Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses July 18 using a 5-iron.

Joe Diemer, aced the 110-yard eighth hole of the Dutch Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses July 17 using a pitching wedge.

David Vick, Merrifield, aced the 155-yard 12th hole of the Dutch Legacy at Cragun's Legacy Courses July 21 using a 7-iron.

Vic Sophie, East Gull Lake, aced the 125-yard 17th hole at Eagle's Landing using a pitching wedge.
