Baseball: Bees drop regular-season finale
SAUK RAPIDS — Sauk Rapids scored six unearned runs with two out in the bottom of the eighth to defeat the Brainerd Bees 9-5 in the final game of the Lakewood League regular season Sunday.
Jack Hegarty and Tyler Lenz each went 2-for-5 with RBIs. Blake Eller and Tim Martin hit RBI singles for the Bees.
Eller pitched seven innings. He allowed seven hits and three runs (1 earned) with nine strikeouts and two walks.
Trevor Howard took the loss. In one inning, he allowed two hits and six runs (none earned) with three walks.
The Bees end the regular season 6-10. They are the No. 5 seed in the Section 7B tournament and play No. 4 Beaudreau's of St. Cloud at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Cold Spring.

COLD SPRING — Mathias Butala struck out 15 batters in seven innings as Cold Spring beat the Brainerd Bees 8-0 in a Lakewood League game Friday.
Butala walked three and allowed just four singles — by Blake Eller, Troy Lenz, Bryce Flanagan and Tim Martin.
Trevor Howard took the loss. In two innings, he yielded six hits and four earned runs.
In three innings, Blake Peterson allowed two runs (none earned) and two hits and three strikeouts.
Eller also pitched three innings. He gave up three hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts.
