Baseball: VFW sophomores split with LF

LITTLE FALLS — Dakota Guderjohn drove in three runs and C.J. Wohl pitched a complete game as the Brainerd sophomore VFW team blanked Little Falls 8-0 in the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday.

Guderjohn was 2-for-3 with a double. Wohl allowed just two hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Dallon Saiko doubled and drove in two runs.

In Game One, Little Falls halted Brainerd's win streak at nine as it scored four times in the bottom of the sixth to post an 8-7 victory.

Chris Pederson, Jake Meyer and Colton Borg each had two hits for Brainerd. Tristan Brecht drove in two runs with a pair of sacrifice flies.

Meyer absorbed the loss despite a complete game. He allowed nine hits but only one earned run. He walked four and struck out one.
