Brainerd man stabbed in leg
A 32-year-old Brainerd man was stabbed in the leg Monday after allegedly getting into an argument with his girlfriend, Brainerd Police Chief Corky McQuiston reported.
Shortly after 2 a.m., Brainerd police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a home on the 1400 block of 12th Avenue Northeast. Initial information was that a male party at the scene was stabbed in the leg.
Responding officers found the 32-year-old man with a small laceration to his upper left thigh area. The man reported that he and his girlfriend had been drinking and were involved in an ongoing argument. At one point during the course of arguing, a small knife became involved. The male reported he was then stabbed by the female in his leg.
The male party refused medical treatment and declined to give authorities an official statement about the assault. The female suspect fled prior to officers arriving at the scene and has not been located at this time. Police did recover a small knife at the scene.
The case remains open, pending further investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Brainerd Police Department at 829-2805.
The Baxter Police Department and Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department assisted with this incident.
