Brainerd Public Library summer reading program
Summer reading program
The Brainerd Public Library thanks everyone who helped make our 2014 "Paws to Read" Summer Reading Program a record breaking year. There were 1,140 kids who signed up to read. More than 13,500 hours were read by local children and teens during our eight-week program. We couldn't offer this free program without the help and support of the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library, personal donations, volunteers and local businesses:
Applebee's, Arby's, Arrowwood Lodge and Waterpark, Bonanza, Book World, Brainerd Kiwanis Club, Brainerd Area Sertoma Club, Brick House Pizza, Burger King, Coco Moon, Cub Foods, Culvers, Dairy Queen, Domino's Pizza, Giovanni's Pizza, Hardees, Holiday Inn Express and Waterpark, Holiday on 6th, InFisherman, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonalds, Mickey's Pizza and Subs, Office Shop, Papa Murphy's, Papa John's Pizza, Pepsi, Pirates Cove, Pizza Hut, Pizza Ranch, Rafferty's Pizza, Rapid River Lodge and Waterpark, Super One Foods, Taco Bell, Viking Coke and Walmart.
Thanks for supporting reading and the kids in our community. Thanks to HART for letting library kids get up close with animals, Michelle McCaughtry for continuing to bring her dog Lulu in for kids to read to, Crow Wing county Master Gardeners, all of the Crow Wing County Dairy Ambassadors, Baxter K-9 officer Matt Maier and Gator, artist Verna Miller, Lavonne Danzl for purchasing scooters and books for kids to take home, parents and caregivers for getting kids to the library and helping to log hours read. The young readers of today are our future.
