Eldon S. Satter, 81, of Brainerd, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society - Bethany Village. Family and friends are invited to gather from 1-3 PM, Sunday, July 27 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Gravesides Services with Military Honors will be held at 12:45 PM, Monday, July 28 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area #5 in Minneapolis, MN.

Eldon was born November 11, 1932 in Brainerd, MN, the son of Frank and Mabel (Franzen) Satter. Following his high school graduation from Pillager, Eldon enlisted in the US Army where he served for 8 years. He was a tax preparer for the State of Minnesota for 30 years and following retirement in moved to the Brainerd area in 1995. Eldon enjoyed the outdoors - especially bird-watching and fishing. He was a volunteer at Camp Courage.

He will be missed by his children, Catherine (Steve) Hodge, of Leewood, KS, Tim (Cindy) Solarz, of Henderson, CO, Jay (Joanne) Satter, of Fridley, and Jon Satter, of Minneapolis; sister, Ruth Wilson; grandchildren, Taylor and Sean Satter, Shannon and Scot Solarz, and Brandon and Allison Hodge; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, June and his brother, Chester.
