Garrison man pleads guilty to burglary charges
Peter A. Miller of Garrison pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of second degree burglary.
The charges stem from an incident that took place on Oct. 28, when the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary at a residence on County Road 126 in Crow Wing County.
A deputy arrived and investigated the incident when the homeowner observed a vehicle near the residence and heard someone in the woods. An individual, later identified as Peter A. Miller, then entered the vehicle and fled. The deputy chased Miller, who abandoned his vehicle and ran into the woods. Miller was later apprehended hiding in a swamp after he broke into another residence that was located between his abandoned vehicle and his residence near Garrison.
Miller was sentenced to a term of 41 months in prison and ordered restitution to the homeowners.
