High water leads to cancellation of canoe activity
The canoeing portion of Crow Wing Canoe Days and Fur Trade Encampment scheduled for Saturday has been canceled because of high water levels on the Mississippi River, according to Crow Wing State Park Manager Paul Roth.
"The water levels on the Mississippi River are just too high for canoeists to land safely at the park's group camp," Roth said in a statement. "The Crow Wing County Muzzleloaders will still be setting up a fur trade encampment for the public to visit. There will be free admission to the park that day."
