Jack Eugene Britton, age 68, resident of Brainerd, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids, MN. He was born on November 27, 1945 in Brainerd to Clifford and Nellie (Hines) Britton.

Jack loved his grandchildren, hunting and fishing. He was a Vietnam Veteran and life member of the Garrison V.F.W. He was also a life member of the Brainerd Chapter of MN Deer Hunters, D.A.V and TIP; he was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, MDH (Minnesota Darkhouse) and Angling Association, National Wild Turkey Federation and the Senior Center.

Jack is survived by his wife Diane (Mogensen) of 42 years; daughter, Jeannie (Paul) Roskop; 4-grandchildren; Mother-in law, Rose Mogensen; 2-brothers, Larry (Joyce) of Brainerd and Robert of Arden Hills; 4-sisters, Audrey Olson of Minneapolis, Sally Sauce of Minneapolis, Hope Johnson and Pat Olson of Brainerd; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Nellie Britton; 2-sisters, Nettie Northway and Susan Anderson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Tony Wroblewski officiating. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Military Honors provided by Garrison V.F.W. Post 1816 Color Guard. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and will continue the hour before services at the church on Tuesday.
