The United States Tennis Association (USTA) Junior Team Tennis playoffs will be held 8 a.m. Monday and Tuesday at Forestview Middle School in Baxter.


Brainerd will roster two 18 and under intermediate teams that will compete against teams from Duluth and Hibbing.

The Brainerd Aces will be coached by Brent Gunsbury and Ken Mimmack and will have Claire Gunsbury, Brooke Mimmack, Ashley Fitterer, Payge Fitterer, Jordan Kleist, Travis Goeden and Garrett Goeden on the team.

The Brainerd Smashes, coached by Megan Hintz, will roster Hailey Hinricks, Hannah Moen, Emily Price, Brayden Mick, Brandon Cole, Theodore Knudson and Adam Kleist.

Brainerd will also have two 14 and under teams and two 12 and under teams competing.

The winners of each age division will advance to the USTA Junior Team Tennis Sectionals in late July at the University of Minnesota.

The 18 and under division will play all of its matches at Forestview Middle School. The 14 and under tournament will be split between Forestview and Gregory Park in Brainerd. The 12 and under matches will take place at Gregory Park and will conclude on Monday. The other two divisions will conclude Tuesday.

Spectators are welcome. There is no admission fee.
