Petite League Softball: Herron leads the way as Force dominate Heat

Ziggy Herron hit for the cycle to lead the Force to a 25-10 victory over the Heat in the 6th annual Brainerd Parks and Recreation Midsummer Slam at Buffalo Hills-Lions Park on Thursday.

Herron stroked a single, double, triple and home run to drive in five runs and earn MVP honors for the Heat.

Sophia Laube belted a single and a home run and collected three RBI to garner MVP laurels for the Heat.

The Force's Tayler Howard and Grace Papenfuss each stroked four singles, Megan Smith had two singles and a triple, Ama'ri Bethel collected three singles and Kaitlyn Tibbetts had a single and a double. Teammates Meagan Yeager, Karli Anderson, Rylee Hanson, Bailey Schuler, Malina Schiller and Zoe LaVoy each had two singles.

For the Heat, Anna Angland swatted two singles and a double, Iyana Pickar had a single and a double, while teammates Erica Lowe and Isabella Chaussee had two singles.
