Robin Sandberg, age 89, of Pillager passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, on her 89th Birthday in Pillager at Riverside Assisted Living. Robin was born in Brainerd to Harry and Bertha (Dower) Richardson on June 20, 1925. She married Rudolph Sandberg in Yakima, WA on September 27, 1945.
Robin was a lifelong resident of Pillager, where she was the Postmaster for many, many years. Robin was a voracious reader and enjoyed coffee dates with her many friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Stephen (Sharon) of Lincoln Lakes and Lynn (Jim) Scearcy of Minnetonka ; grandchildren, VeRonica Sandberg, Ted (Lindsay) Scearcy, Robin (Jake) Fischer and Erin Larson; great grandchildren, Eli and Olivia Scearcy and Rosalie Fischer; sister-in-law, Lois Sandberg; brother-in-law, Vern Erickson; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Rudie; daughter, Jill; brother Sam; sister, Harriet Serrano; grandson-in-law, Brian Larson.
A funeral service celebrating Robins life will be held at First Lutheran Church in Pillager on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11AM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 4:00-7:00PM at Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home-BAXTER CHAPEL, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church in Pillager. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager.
