Sentencing - July 18
The following people were recently sentenced in Crow Wing District Court:
Gerald W. Nickaboine, 18, Onamia, was sentenced by Judge Kristine R. DeMay to five years supervised probation for fifth-degree drug possession.
Jacob J. Gerlach, 20, Forest Lake, was sentenced by DeMay to one year in Crow Wing County Jail, with 335 days stayed for three years for gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (DWI).
Jacqueline S. Elyea, 49, Brainerd, was sentenced by DeMay to 12 months and one day at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee for felony aggravated forgery.
Clinton P. Schaeppi, III, 43, Brainerd, was sentenced by Judge David Ten Eyck to one year in county jail, with 320 days stayed for three years for gross misdemeanor DWI.
Jenny M. Vanvalkenburg, 29, Duluth, was sentenced by DeMay to 13 months in the Shakopee prison, with sentence stayed for four years for felony charge of aiding an offender to avoid arrest.
Joshua A. Schreder, 28, Little Falls, was sentenced by Judge Earl E. Maus to two years of unsupervised probation for gross misdemeanor coercion-threat to expose a secret or disgrace.
Timothy S. Vanhamm, 34, Brainerd was sentenced by Maus to five years of supervised probation for fifth-degree drug sale. Successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.
Editor's note: In court terms, when a person is sentenced and given a time that is "stayed," it means that if the person violates the terms of their probation, that they may have to serve the original jail/prison sentence that the judge imposed.
