Stella R. Brusseau, 94, passed away peacefully in San Andreas, Calif. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, after a short illness.
Stella was born Feb. 28, 1920, to Walter and Gusty (Wosnak) Andrewjeski in Little Falls, Minnesota. She attended school in Harding, Minnesota. She married Leo Brusseau on Sept. 7, 1937, and was a homemaker for 77 years. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, Minn. In 1942 and 1946, the family was blessed with sons Gary and Duane. In 1953, the Brusseau family moved to Wyoming, then Idaho and finally settled in Milpitas, Calif. in 1955, where she began attending St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Milpitas. In 1971, having raised their children, Stella and Leo returned to Brainerd, Minn. After the death of her husband in 1994, Stella returned to Calif. to be near her children. In her final years, Stella lived with Duane and his family in San Jose and in her final months, with Gary and his wife in San Andreas.
Stella loved cooking and baking pies and cookies and was known for her homemade buns during holidays. She loved her family deeply and took great pride and pleasure in providing a happy and healthy home.
Stella is survived by her two sons, Gary (Kim) Brusseau of San Andreas and Duane (Bobbie) Brusseau of San Jose; four grandchildren, Michael Brusseau, Christopher (Sherri) Brusseau, Leanne (Sean) Randall and Andrea (Brian) Barone; four great-grandchildren, Noah Barone, Brett Randall, Olivia Brusseau and Allyson Barone; her closest and dearest friend, Richard Monighetti of Mountain View; a brother, Edmund Andrewjeski of Washington and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Stella was predeceased by her husband Leo, three brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
