Weekend fire calls

Brainerd firefighters responded to a cut gas line at 8:23 p.m. Friday on Cherrywood Drive in Baxter when a resident cut a shallow gas line about 6 inches below the surface while tilling in his yard.

On Saturday, the Brainerd Fire Department responded at 12:48 p.m. to a garbage can fire on the 1800 block of Pine Street in Brainerd. The fire was in the alley.

At 3:52 a.m. Saturday, a fire alarm was reported at Grizzly’s on Edgewood Drive in Baxter, but no fire was found at the scene.

Another alarm, at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the Baymont Inn & Suites, in Baxter, was triggered when someone activated a “pull station.” No fire was found.
