Knowledge Bites presentation
Mike Koechler, director of RSVP in Brainerd, will give a presentation on "Retirement - Rust or Renewal," at 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison. His presentation will cover such topics as the transition into retirement.
Mission Possible Senior Club
The Mission Possible Senior club meets the first Wednesday of each month (May through December). There will be a meeting at noon Wednesday at the Mission fire hall. Potluck will be served followed by music provided by John and Virginia Shogren.

The Post Executive Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Legion.

NISSWA - A farmers' market will be held from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Nisswa American Legion. The Friday night dinner is chicken, fish, liver and onions for $12.95.

The Crow Wing County Fair Board will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Brainerd Curling Club.
Brainerd Elks Lodge breakfast
Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615 will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at 215 South Ninth St., Brainerd. Order from the menu. All proceeds go to support Elks programs.
Garrison Seniors meeting
GARRISON - Garrison Seniors meet noon Tuesday at Light of the Cross Lutheran Church, 27170 Monroe Street, two blocks west of the Super Valu in the City of Garrison. Bring a potluck food item to share and your plates, cups and silverware. Coffee is provided.
Representative Joe Radinovich, a fourth generation Cuyuna Ranger who represents eastern Crow Wing and Aitkin Counties in the Minnesota House, will be the speaker. He plans to discuss the Minnesota Legislature's accomplishments in the 2013-14 biennium and issues that may come up in the next two years. Come prepared with questions on the issues that matter the most to you.
VFW Friday dinner
The VFW Friday dinner will be the Auxiliary fish fry from 5:30 p.m. until gone. Cost: $8.

Cuyuna Range Women's Club
CROSBY - On Sept. 8, the Cuyuna Range Women's Club will meet at 1 p.m. at the Jesse F. Hallett Memorial Library in Crosby. The program will be presented by author, Rhonda Fochs, who will have copies of her book available for sale for $21. This well-received book is entitled "Minnesota's Lost Towns." The musical program will be performed by a perennial favorite, Gary Stacken, singer and guitarist.

Prosch had 28 years of volunteer service
Allen R. Prosch will be at Paul Bunyan Land from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31. Stop by and say thanks to Prosch for 28 years of volunteer service with the IOF. He has to stop volunteering due to being diagnosed with brain cancer.
Center Morning Club
The Center Morning Club meets each Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A speaker program is scheduled each week on various subjects of interest to the community. The club also participates in the "Books in a Bag" reading program sponsored by the public library. The speaker programs scheduled for September: Sept. 3, Kevin and Kelly Vogel, Safari North; Sept. 10, Kevin Stunek, Brainerd Fire Chief; Sept. 17, John Ward, Minnesota State Representative; and Sept. 24, Audrae Gruber/Lily Atwell, retired social workers for the Minnesota State Agency for the Blind.
Bake and vegetable auction
There will be a bake and vegetable auction at 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Lake Hubert Community Grange. Potluck supper follows. Dues will be collected for the year.
