Art focus: Pottery II.
Adviser nomination: “Fletcher is an exceptional potter. He is a quick learner and strives to
increase his ability every day. It has been a great experience watching him grow as an artist each and every day.”
What interested you in pottery? “I took it in middle school because I like building stuff. I didn’t like it at first. Mr. (Bob) Johnson (art teacher at BHS) got me into the pottery wheel.”
What do you like about the wheel? “You can make things more clean and neat. Your work looks professional, really good.”
What are your plans after high school? “I plan to go to college for mechanical engineering. I’ve applied at the University of Minnesota but not sure yet where I’ll go.”
Artist most admired: Mary Toumi.
Memorable fine arts achievement: Learning how to use the pottery wheel.
Favorite subject: Science.
Favorite TV series: “Modern Family.”
Favorite book: “Too many to pick from.”
