Adviser nomination: “Briana is an outstanding art student in every sense of the word. She is intrinsically driven to learn. Briana continually experiments with new media and techniques, she researches visual concepts that she plans to explore and is always in the process of creating art. Her technical skills are outstanding and her creative solutions to problems are intriguing. Even Briana’s preliminary works are of the highest quality. She is a quiet, reserved student who is an absolute joy to have in class.”

Art classes you’ve taken: Painting and drawing.

Art media you enjoy most: “Recently it has been painting. Usually it’s graphite pencils. I like painting now because it’s something new. I like the colors and what you can do with it.”

Proudest work: “An abstract painting I did at home this year. It’s simple. It’s done in warm colors and then I splattered black and white paint on top of it.”

How do you solve your art problems: “I experiment and play around with my art. If there is a problem, I will keep working on it until I like it. It usually turns out.”

Most memorable fine arts achievement: “An art piece I created for the BHS Fine Arts Fair last year.”

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
