Adviser nomination: “Kyle has done an outstanding job in TV Productions this year. He has worked hard to go above and beyond in his work. He has volunteered to tackle extra projects that help make our productions even better.”

What was your extra project: “I did a promotional video for Brainerd High School Warrior night that was about what we do in TV Productions. It was a minute long of short clips that included an intro to the ‘Warrior Update’ and the opening of Winter Wonder Week.”

What interested you in TV Productions: “I took TV Productions one because I thought it’d be fun and I liked it so much I took the second class. I like dealing with films and editing.”

Your favorite role: “Editing. I like to bring things together. I’ve played all the roles, but this year I mainly run the Video Tape Recorder.”

Your best package: “A package I edited for dress up days for Winter Wonder Week. I used a software called ‘Motion’ that helps with effects, so instead of using a blank black screen with words, I could use cool effects. For Hawaiian Day, I used flowers that were blowing across the screen.”

Fine art activities: Fifth Street Journal.

Most memorable fine arts achievement: “The promotional video I did.”

Artists most admired: Lights, a music artist, and Adam Young.

Favorite song: “Lions.”

Favorite band: ALL CAPS.

Favorite movie: “How to Train Your Dragon.”

Favorite book: “The Hunger Games.”

Favorite restaurant: Perkins.

Best type of pizza: Cheese pizza.

Hobbies: Film and video games.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
