■ Former Dispatch editor co-writes ‘Knowing Horses’

Les Sellnow, a former Brainerd Dispatch editor, recently co-wrote a book entitled “Knowing Horses.” The book is described as questions and answers “to boost your equine IQ.”

Sellnow, a lifelong horseman, competitor, journalist and author of eight other horse books and hundreds of magazine articles, writes regularly for The Horse and the Blood-Horse magazines. He lives in Riverton, Wyo.

He partnered with Carol A. Butler, co-author of a series of natural history question and answer books and a docent at the American Museum of Natural History. She lives in New York City.

The book is published by Storey Publishing.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
