Adviser nomination: “Grant has improved his skills dramatically this semester. He is very dependable, always hitting his deadlines. It’s nice to be able to do productions when you know you can count on the work being done on time with quality. Grant brings that to our production.”

Artist most admired: “(Dave) Henschke (TV Productions adviser). He is always working overtime to make sure everything looks good. He has taught me to be motivated to do things in this class.”

What is your interest in TV Pro: “This is my second semester in it. It was recommended to me by friends and I like it because of the story telling.”

Talk about your dependability: “It’s because I enjoy it. I come in after school and work for a couple of hours and during my open hour. I feel obligated to get it done so we have a good show by the end of the week.”

Your favorite role: “Being the actor. I think it is fun.”

News production you watch: “Channel 1, a channel here for students. It has helped me get tips.”

Favorite movie: “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.”

Favorite TV show: “American Dad!”

Favorite band: Panic! at the Disco.

Perfect day: “Sleeping in late, having a nice breakfast of pancakes and bacon and hanging out with friends and watching a movie.”

New Year’s resolutions: “To work out more.”

Sports: Tennis.

Favorite restaurant: China Buffet.

Favorite video game: Halo.

Parents: John Helwig of Brainerd and Keri Larson of Baxter.

Honorable mentions: Caleb Christensen, sophomore, mock trial: “Caleb plays a witness, Dr. Storm, on this year’s mock trial team. In our first two scrimmages, the judges singled out Caleb to comment on his excellent performance. This is his first year in Mock Trial and he has proven himself to be invaluable.”

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
