Fill Santa’s sock with socks
One out of every four homeless persons is a veteran, and although we do not know for sure how many of them are women, we do know there are over 6,000 women veterans in Minnesota. There are four Veterans Hospitals and five Veterans Homes in Minnesota. In addition, there are four “Stand-Downs” held in Minnesota especially for the homeless. These veterans would really appreciate new socks. Let’s help them, as they have helped us by keeping America free.
The Brainerd Legion Auxiliary has a huge Santa sock at the Legion club. When you are out doing your Christmas shopping, pick up a package of men’s or women’s socks, stop in at the Legion and place the socks in our big Santa sock.
