Much Obliged - Jan. 29
Thanks to Bethany staff
I have been in the paper before. I’ve been a Bethany resident for four years and although I’ve had some problems since I’ve been here, I really appreciate the staff. A few weeks ago, my dad was here for a night. He was dying of cancer and the staff took excellent care of him and they have taken excellent care of him and they have taken excellent care of myself since I’ve been here. I especially want to thank the nursing staff that was on duty thenight my dad passed. Even though the Bethany nursing home is extremely short staffed, they go out of their way to be sure you are comfortable and feel at home.
Thank you Bethany staff.
Radiothon to End Child Abuse
The Crow Wing County Child Protection Team would like to thank the Crow Wing County community for its response to the 18th Annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse.
Thanks to the generosity of many, over $66,000 was raised to support local children and their families. We are indebted to Mike Boen and his entire staff at BL Broadcasting for their hard work and dedication towards making the Radiothon such a success. Also participating this year were Stu and Jane Muck, lending their support and providing personalized Wisconsin treats.
Thanks to Karen Schirmer’s third grade class at Riverside Elementary for creating Radiothon radio ads. Thanks to KFC, McDonald’s, Papa John’s of Crosby, Grab a Java for food and refreshments, CTC for phone lines. Thanks to Westgate Mall for their hospitality and Prairie Bay Grill & Catering for hosting auction volunteers. Special thanks to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Kohl’s financial and volunteer support. A huge thank you to Ann Sherman of Midwest Captions who again volunteered countless hours setting up the Radiothon website at brainerd.com. Thanks to the many volunteers who answered phones lines and to all that donated auction items. Thanks to Charlotte Stokes and the Collaborative Service Team who organized the brat sale at the Westgate Mall with the support of Baxter Cub Foods, Viking Coke, and VonHanson Meats.
Finally, thank you to all who pledged money or purchased auction items for this important cause to help make the event a success. We consider ourselves privileged to live in a community that values children and families, and look forward to working together in the coming year.

Family who lost home to fire offers thanks
The family of Dianna Bjornsen and Alan Petrusson would like to thank everyone who helped during a fire at our home in October in Pillager.
Thank you for all the donations and thoughts and prayers from several businesses and families in the community. It meant a lot to our families during this tragic time. The donations have helped us rebuild our home and our lives.
