Black History Month observed

To observe Black History Month, Central Lakes College hosted a day of diversity and civil rights education Tuesday on the Brainerd campus. Guest presenter was Joe Rogers, who served as the youngest lieutenant governor in the United States during his time in Colorado. His morning “Dream Alive” program in the gymnasium offered a positive perspective for students from schools in Brainerd, Onamia, and Isle as well as CLC. Rogers also met with student senators and the CLC Diversity Leadership Council during the event, which was co-sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. His small-group sessions focused on that it takes to be young and lead and what he calls “the new frontier in American leadership.”

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
