Horticulture students maintain seasonal greenery at CLC

Becca Thompson of Brainerd worked from an elevated lift to place decorative, artificial butterflies and birds amid the branches of a transplanted paper birch tree that, with the ample warm weather, sunlight, and watering, has leafed out in the computer commons of the Central Lakes College campus.

Horticulture students of instructors Marcia Hoard, Theri Wasniewski and Jeff Dirks provide seasonal accents and sustained greenery year-round for their training in ornamental trees and shrubs, greenhouse crops, sustainable landscaping, and pest management.
