A good deed

Pillager Cub Scout Pack 77 and Troop 77 recently fulfilled their commitment by picking up garbage on Cass County Highway 1 for the “Adopt a Highway” program. The Pillager Cub Scout leadership feels it’s important for the Scouts to demonstrate community involvement and civic duty.

The boys worked hard walking the ditches, picking up everything from cups to tires. To reward them for their hard work, the Cub Master decided to treat them to ice cream from The Shante in Pillager.

Well, as growing boys, they were hungry for more than ice cream. The Cub Master decided to order pizza and soda for them.

While waiting for the pizza, several Shante customers thanked the boys for their hard work. When the Cub Master went to pay the bill he was told that it had already been paid for by a customer that had seen the boys picking up garbage.

We, Pack 77 and Troop of Pillager, want to thank you for the good deed! What a great lesson for our Cub Scouts.
