Programs coming to Staples library

STAPLES — The Staples Public Library will be hosting two upcoming programs.

Adventures With Coffee will be held Thursday with storyteller Pam Collins in the RoundHouse for children ages 3 to 5. She will present two storytimes about the escapades of a silly black cat named Coffee: A morning storytime from 9:15-9:45 a.m., and an afternoon storytime from 1:15-1:45 p.m.

Another program, Writing and Publishing Workshops, will be held Thursday and Feb. 7. Adults who are interested in the writing and publishing process are invited to two workshops. The workshop scheduled Thursday will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and is about writing a book. The workshop structure will take three steps: The plan, the research and the words to the page. The second workshop will be about publishing a book and will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Workshop topics will include finding a publisher or doing it yourself, and traditional or non-traditional marketing.

Attendance at each of these workshops is limited to 20 and preregistration is required.

Both programs are funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
