■ Living Savior Lutheran

Church garage sale

LAKE SHORE — Living Savior Lutheran of Lake Shore will hold its annual garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6 and 8 a.m. to noon June 7. There will be a bake sale included until the food items are gone. Living Savior is located about 3/4 of a mile south of Bar Harbor on County Road 77.

■ Walleye fish fry planned

HACKENSACK — Union Congregational Church in Hackensack is holding its 4th annual walleye fish fry June 14 at the church. Walleye will be served from 4-7 p.m. Union Church raises funds to distribute Christmas and Easter Baskets in the Hackensack area, offers an after school program, a Saturday evening program for youth, a morning out program for young parents, funds the Family Safety Network, supports the Hackensack and Walker Food Shelves and more.

The chef for the dinner will be Sheriff Tom Burch and his crew and features Tom’s special recipe plus baked beans and more. Tickets are $13 if purchased before the event and $15 at the door, children under 10, $5. Tickets are available at Mark’s Market, Do-It-Best in Hackensack and from the men’s and women’s Fellowship members.

■ Workshop of Wonders VBS

Park United Methodist Church, 315 North Sixth St., Brainerd, will have vacation Bible school “Workshop of Wonders” at the church June 9-13 from 8:30 a.m. until noon for infants through 7th grade.

At Workshop of Wonders, children discover how the ordinary becomes the extraordinary with God. Experience the love of Jesus. Meet people from the Bible who used what they had to produce something amazing with God. Imagine with Esther. Build with Ezra. Grow with the Mustard Seed parable. Work by feeding the 5000. Walk on the road to Emmaus.

Pre-register by calling the church at 829-4116 or director Mary at 828-4277. Cost is $5 per child.

■ Intercessory Prayer Gathering

An intercessory prayer gathering will be 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday. Meet at the back parking lot of the Sawmill Inn, 601 Washington St., Brainerd to determine meeting in the backroom of the Sawmill Inn or at Gregory Park by the fountain. Bring lawn chairs, Bible and friends. As prayer warriors, we will pray for God’s will to be done in the people of His world, America, Minnesota, central Minnesota, the Brainerd lakes area and in our own personal lives. We will use the theme of 2 Peter 3:9.

■ Christ-centered support

group for co-dependents

Note the time change: A Christ-centered support group for co-dependents meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the community room of the Sawmill Inn restaurant, 601 Washington St., Brainerd. Join the group as they heal together through exploring the 12 Christ-Centered co-dependency steps with people who have “been there and done that.” People will feel at home and with friends and find the support needed to become healthy and whole. You will learn how to establish healthy boundaries that will restore sanity to your own life, as well as encourage your loved ones to seek help they so desperately need. Bring a Bible and a friend.

■ Lord of Life Lutheran

BAXTER — Sunday will be Pastor John Lundberg’s last worship service with Lord of Life Lutheran Church. A coffee reception will be held to bid Pastor John and Judy good-bye.

There will be a staffed nursery this summer during Sunday morning and Wednesday evening church services for children 0-36 months. Children 3 years old through 1st graders will have an opportunity each Sunday morning to participate in a story, an activity and free play.

There will be a clean-up/work day at Lord of Life on June 7 beginning at 8 a.m. Both interior and exterior work will be completed. Snacks and lunch will be provided.

Lord of Life Lutheran, in conjunction with Lutheran Church of the Cross will participate in hosting the New Pathways, Inc. The Path to Home. Our week begins June 8. To volunteer, sign up during church services or call the church office for more information.

■ Outdoor gospel music concerts

MALMO — Malmo Evangelical Free Church will be starting its 20th season of outdoor gospel music concerts June 7. Each Saturday night in June, July and August will be filled with bluegrass, country, southern gospel and traditional gospel music with quartets and groups featuring mandolins, fiddles, guitars and more of your favorite musical instruments.

The first concert will be 7 p.m. June 7 with the Garms Family from Braham.

Malmo Church is located near the junction of Highways 47 and 18 on Highway 18 near the northeast corner of Lake Mille Lacs.

■ Graduating seniors

recognized at Bethlehem

Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brainerd has 12 students graduating from high school on June 6: Nicole Anderson, Kathleen Thorson, Brock Kruize, Aaron Lundgren, Kacey Finch, Allan Dosh, Logan Jones, Abby Holloway, Mitchell Cole, Jamie Stall, Kayli Skinner and Jack Gubrud. They will be recognizing the class of 2014 at the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday. The seniors will receive a blessing and be presented with blankets.

■ First Lutheran Church

to recognized seniors

On Sunday during the 9:15 a.m. coffee fellowship, First Lutheran Church will recognize and celebrate the graduating seniors. Brunch will be provided.

■ Brainerd Christian

Women’s Connection

The Brainerd Christian Women’s Connection (BCWC) will have a BCWC Women’s Day Out event from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the Nisswa Community Center, Nisswa. Gayle Gilbertson, guest speaker, will discuss “Finding Balance In Your Life.” Also included at this event BCWC bake sale fundraiser, fellowship and door prizes. Cost: $20.

Babysitting services will not be provided at this luncheon. Scholarships for our luncheon are no longer available. Mingle tables will be provided for guests.

RSVP by noon Tuesday. Contact Karla at 828-4793. Make checks payable to Brainerd Christian Women’s Connection. Reservations cancellations will be required by noon Tuesday. The No-Show Policy: If someone cancels their reservation after noon Tuesday, they will not be refunded. That’s because when we pay for the meals in advance, we cannot go down in the reservation lunch count.

■ Crosslake Presbyterian Church to host monster sale extravaganza

CROSSLAKE — Every two or three years, the Member Growth and Evangelism Committee at Crosslake Presbyterian sponsors a sale so large that it is held in several areas inside the church and on the church grounds and parking lot. The sale will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. June 7 at 14444 Daggett Pine Road, Crosslake. In addition to the sale, there is a silent auction, bake sale and lunch booth. The proceeds will go for church missions and other needs. The church is located at 14444 Daggett Pine Road, Crosslake.
