Franciscan Order donates to Faith in Action
LITTLE FALLS — The St. Francis of Assisi Franciscan Order of Little Falls donated $1,000 to Faith in Action to be used to build ramps, from the Leona Horak Memorial Fund.
The Secular Franciscan Order is a way of life for men and women who are called to take an active part in the mission of Christ to bring the good news of salvation to the world.
Faith in Action, which is a division of Horizon Health Inc., Pierz, provides seniors and people with disabilities the opportunity to remain safe and independent in their own homes. Faith in Action volunteers builds ramps, makes home modifications, shop, cook, drive or just check in on neighbors with long-term health needs. The program also raises awareness and provides resources for family caregivers for support and respite. In addition to the actual ride or an afternoon of respite, volunteers offer hope, dignity, and added security to people who rely on them. Volunteers provide an outlet for socialization and, for many, support through trying times if they don’t have anyone else to turn to.
If you would like to become one of the volunteers for Faith in Action or if you or a loved one are in need of any of the volunteer services, contact Jessica at Horizon Health at (800) 224-6451 or (320) 468-6451.
