Trinity to honor high school graduates

Trinity Lutheran Church of Brainerd will honor its 2011 Brainerd and Pillager High School graduates on Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service. A brunch will be served to the graduates and their family in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m.

Graduates to be recognized are Jillian Anderson, Natalie Brown, Blaine Bubalo, Zach Cadwell, Hannah Delaney, Chelsey Hanson, Kassi Kavanaugh, Allison Knude, Marlee Landsburg, Aaron Niklaus, Asha Roberts, Mark Sands and Nathan Tahtinen.

Pastor Dave Holte will be speaking on “The Way, The Truth and The Life” at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services with Holy Communion being observed.

Brainerd High School baccalaureate planned

The Brainerd High School class of 2011 baccalaureate worship celebration, “With every step, God leads,” will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd High School cafeteria. The free event is open to all graduating seniors, their families and friends. There will be a free ice cream social at First Lutheran Church following baccalaureate.

First Lutheran Church events

On Saturday, 17 youths will affirm their faith in the 2011 Confirmation service at First Lutheran Church, Brainerd. This is a special occasion in the faith journey for our young people. Join them at 10 a.m. in Koinonia for this service. Confirmands are reminded to arrive at church by 8:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Due to the Confirmation service on Saturday, AngelFood’s distribution will take place in The Office Shop garage and the parking lot behind the church. Boxes may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

On Sunday, First Lutheran, 424 S. 8th St., Brainerd, will recognize their graduating high school seniors. A coffee fellowship will be held at 9:15 am in their honor. The Seniors will be recognized during the 10:30 am service. Following the services a brunch will be held for the graduates and their family.

Run for the Cross motorcycle ride planned

Oak Street Chapel will be having its fourth annual Run for the Cross motorcycle ride on Sunday. Worship service is at 9:30 a.m. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. The ride leaves at noon. All proceeds go to Heart to Home ministries, providing household items to those in need. To pre-register call 828-7770 or register the day of the ride, corner of 11th Street and Oak Street in Brainerd.
