Music in the park
Glen Clark and the Family, along with Daniele, Martay, Alcam, Break Through, Follow Through, Joshua Glenn and Look Up, will perform in Gregory Park from 4-8:30 p.m. Saturday as part of a summer gathering called Music in the Park. Alzen Family Band to perform at Living Savior
The Alzen Family Band will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Living Savior Lutheran Church. Weather permitting the concert will be outdoors so bring your own chair. For those interested for a small charge prior to the concert, brats, beans, chips and pop will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The church is located three and a half miles west of Schaefer’s corner on County Road 77.
Faithful Men quartet
MALMO — The Malmo Free Church will present the Faithful Men Quartet at 7 p.m. Saturday. Malmo Church is located near the junction of Highways 47 and 18 on Highway 18 near the northeast corner of Lake Mille Lacs.
‘B’ sale at Emily
The Emily United Methodist Church will be having a “B” sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. The sale will include baked goods, books, bazaar items and Beanie Babies. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Imagine No Malaria program to fight malaria in Africa through Prevention, Treatment, Education and Communication.
Malawi Mission Team presentation
CROSBY — The Malawi Mission Team from Immanuel LC in Crosby will have a presentation on their African trip at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel with a potluck at 5:30 p.m. A presentation will also be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Heartwood Presbyterian Homes in the conference room. Yami Chikoti from Malawi will also be a part of the presentation and will be sharing information on the Malawi Orphan Care Project. Contact the church office for more information at 546-6010.
Annual church picnic at Shepherd of the Lake
GARRISON — The annual church picnic at Shepherd of the Lake in Garrison will be Sunday. There will be an outdoor church service at 10 a.m. followed by a potluck luncheon. There will be games and prizes too.
Financial Peace University coming
Oak Street Christian School and the Seventh-day Adventist Church will host Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University beginning Sept. 10. Financial Peace University is a 13-week course that teaches a step-by-step method to beat debt, build wealth, find bargains, and invest for the future.
The cost of the course is $99 and includes a membership kit and a lifetime membership in Financial Peace University, which allows participants to go through the course again anytime and anywhere it is offered without additional charge. For married couples, only the husband or wife needs to register for the course, and the other one can share the membership and participate at no additional cost. Everyone is invited to come to a free preview of the course that will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at Oak Street Christian School at 2910 Oak Street, Building C in Brainerd. The class will be at the school Monday nights from 7-8:30 p.m.

This week at Trinity
Trinity Lutheran Church of Brainerd will have a special youth service on Sunday with Holy Communion. The six students that participated in the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer will provide a short video presentation on their experiences.
Special music will be presented by the students of the vacation Bible school which was held last week. Music will focus on the theme — SKY — All Things Are Possible With God.
There will be one service at 9 a.m. with a coffee hour to follow.
The regular Wednesday night service on Aug. 15 will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor Hans Anderson preaching. It is an informal, 30-minute service with Holy Communion.
Trinity is located at 1620 South 6th Street.
Good Shepherd Free Lutheran to have celebration service
The Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church will have a celebration service at 10 a.m. Sunday at its new church on 5878 Pine Beach Road. Pastor Gary Jorgenson will give the message. Special music will be sung by the choir.
The church had been meeting at 9 a.m. at 810 Northwest Seventh St., Brainerd.
