Many high school and college graduates begin their adult lives not knowing how to manage their money. For them, living paycheck to paycheck becomes a way of life.
For those who are tired of the financial rat race, there is an alternative.
Harriet Veenker will be teaching Financial Peace University (FPU) classes from 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 10 at the Crosby Assembly of God Church. The course runs for nine weeks with a ‘graduation ceremony’ on the last night of class.

■ Intercessory Prayer
Come and intercede for God’s will to be done in His World, America, Minnesota, central Minnesota, the Brainerd lakes area and in our own personal lives. Worship goes from 1:30-2 p.m. and an intercessory prayer from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday in the back room of the Sawmill Inn at 601 Washington Street in Brainerd. Come and pray as long as you are able. If you are unable to attend, please pray for God’s will to be done in His World, as it already is in Heaven.
■ Feast of Epiphany at Prince of Peace
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Baxter, will be celebrating the Feast of Epiphany at their 9 a.m. service on Sunday. Following the service, a brunch will be served by the handbell choir.
■ Trinity Lutheran
to Install Officers
Trinity Lutheran Church of Brainerd will have a Service of Installation at both the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday for the new officers on the Trinity Vision Council for 2013. Pastor Hans Anderson will be speaking with Holy Communion served at both services. The officers will be hosting the coffee hour between services. Sunday School classes will resume during the Education Hour at 9:30 a.m. Also, it is Food Shelf and Noisy Can Sunday.
Officers to be installed for 2013 are President Kari Christenson; President Elect Bob Nibbe; Secretary Julie Anderson; Treasurer Doug Johnson and council members Sandee Haugene, Sherry Grabouski, Stephany Hanson, Ron Hart and Don Wennberg. Pastor Dave Holte and Pastor Hans Anderson will conduct the Service of Installation.
The Wednesday evening service will continue at 6 p.m. A meal is being served at 5 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall prior to the service.

Christ Community Church located at 24646 Hazelwood Drive in Nisswa will be offering Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University from 6-8 p.m. beginning Jan. 14 thru March 11. of Little Falls
To continue celebrating the Year of Faith with churches across the world, the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls invites the public to a series of three monthly talks focused on Vatican II, the Church Council, which began with Pope John XXIII. The first one-hour session entitled, Vatican II Documents, 50 years later—Constitutions on the Liturgy and on Divine Revelation, will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., on Jan. 8 in St. Francis Hall at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. Sister Elise Saggau OSF, presenter, will refresh our memories about documents that came forth from Vatican II, the Council that continues to enrich our lives today.
■ The Church on Wise Road presents in concert ‘Churchyard’
The Church on Wise Road will be presenting “Churchyard,” southern, country and blugrass gospel music, at 7 p.m. on Jan. 4. CDs will be available on site along with free refreshments being served.
The church is located at 10345 Wise Road in Brainerd, one mile north off County Road 3.
